 As per the amendment made by Govt. of India on Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations on December 21, 2010, for entrance into Post Graduate Medical Courses (MD/MS/Diploma), single eligibility cum entrance examination namely National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) becomes compulsory with effect from 2013-2014 academic session.
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India authorised National Board of Examination (NBE) to conduct the NEET-PG exam. NBE will conduct NEET-PG, 2012 through Computer Based Test (CBT) from November 23 to December 6, 2012 at 33 centres in different cities of India. The In-service candidates, who go through NEET-PG, will be called for seat allotment from their respective State quota in order of merit at RIMS Imphal. Open candidates will also undergo the same process. The candidates must have passed MBBS Course from recognized Medical College/ Institution, and after compulsory rotary internship they must have full registration from either Medical Council of India or State Medical Councils. Subject-wise nomination will not be allowed.
Counselling for Seat allocation will be given to successful candidates in order of merit in the NEET-PG exam. This means that candidates shall be given counselling according to their performance; the highest mark scorer will have the option to choose any subject he or she likes and so accordingly. The guidelines prepared for merit-based selection by Supreme Court will be followed. Online Registration is being opened from October 4 -November 12, 2012.
